READ FULL DESCRIPTION:
WHY UTAH DOES IT: The Jazz are tanking but keeping their vets as of now. If they have a fire sale and trade their vets away. They gain a FRP and a few SRP’s as well.
Hardaway is an expiring deal who they’ll let expire. He could also be waived to sign with a contender.
Adams is an expiring contract who Utah will waive to sign with a contender.
Nance Jr is an expiring deal who they’ll let expire. He could also be waived to sign with a contender.
Green is an expiring deal who they’ll let expire. He could also be waived to sign with a contender.
Fontecchio returns to Utah and can be a rotational piece for them. His contract expires next year.
Tate is a young piece that could show his potential in Utah. He is a good perimeter defender and could become part of Utah’s rotation moving forward. He’s an expiring deal so Utah can decide if they wanna resign him or not.
WHY ATLANTA DOES IT: The Hawks are playing pretty good recently and they could use another offensive weapon off the bench to help Bogdanovic who been injured recently despite playing through it.
Clarkson is an electric scorer who can provide depth and more neck scoring for Atlanta with Bogdanovic playing through a lower leg injury and struggling recently. He’s an expiring deal next a could be traded to a rebuilding team for assets or to a contender to try to win a chip.
Holiday returns to Atlanta could be waived due to his heavy contract.
Moore Jr is a player worth taking a flyer on for the Hawks and since his contract is expiring they can choose whether to resign him or not
WHY DETROIT DOES IT: The Pistons are staring to finally emerge. Giving Cade and Ivey a lob threat in Collins who can crate in the paint in the front court next to Duren. The other pieces are salary fillers but this is worth it for Detroit.
Collins, as I’ve detailed earlier is the perfect lob threat for Cade Cunningham. Collins played great next to Trae Young for a bit in Atlanta and helped them get to an ECF appearance in 2021. He’s also an okay defender which would help Duren and lessen the load for him in the paint.
Landale has a hefty contract but he can play as a serviceable backup behind Duren. He can even split those minutes with Paul Reed.
Roddy is a salary filler on an expiring contract they may be waived by Detroit.
WHY HOUSTON DOES IT: The Rockets window is wide open right now. This trade may push them over the top as a legit contender now, and in the future like OKC.
Sexton is a perfect for Houston. He is a microwave scorer who would come off the bench as the Sixth Man. Houston needs bench offence to help Tari Eason and Sexton is the perfect guy for that role.
Eubanks would replace Steven Adams as Houston’s backup centre. With Adams and Landale being traded there would be no competition for Eubanks who fits Houston’s timeline better than Adams and Landale whilst being on a cheaper contract than both of them.
Sasser would replace Aaron Holiday as Houston’s backup PG. He’s on a cheaper contract and would be a better fit than Holiday whilst also fitting their timeline.
Matthews is an expiring contract and could be waived. He returns to Houston and he could be a valuable bench piece if they keep him.
Thoughts? Is this a win for all?
