I don’t believe San Antonio would do this, but would be curious to see what people thought.

Let’s imagine after the lottery the SAS pick ends up #4 and the TOR pick #8. They decide rather than adding a couple rookies, they’d rather move them as the draft isn’t all that spectacular.

Instead of other future picks, their offer is Keldon, Graham, #4, and #8 for Garland.

Salary neutral for SAS, maintains all their future picks, and still have cap. Cavs get a rotation piece in Johnson plus an expiring deal and the two picks. Cavs could throw in someone like Wade as a sweetener if necessary.

Cavs would have to decide what they’d want to do with those picks, but that would now give them three moveable 1sts this year and $30M+ in expiring money between LeVert, Graham, and Jerome. It’d take some juggling, but there’s probably deal you can pull off for another wing or SG while still keeping #4 or #8.

I’m sure the Spurs would want to move different picks, but it just depends on how they rank the players in this draft and where their picks fall. If they come out of it with Garland, Vassell, Sochan, Wemby, Jones, Branham, Collins, etc. plus about $35M in projected cap space and the rest of their future picks. There’s ways for them to create more cap space if they want to. That could be more valuable in the long run.
