Okay let's admit the KP situation hasn't really worked out in Dallas. He's under contract for 3 more years. That's not going to work. This trade solves a couple of problems for Dallas. 1. The get good wing defenders in Harris & Carter-Williams. MCW is a solid backup PG and his 6'5 size allows him to switch. Harris is also a solid off ball SG who shoots 35% from 3. Very average, but he's also a good defender. Wendell Carter Jr. is a young big with potential. He's shown flashes of solid play. For Orlando KP gets a new start with a young team looking to compete and improve. It's the perfect opportunity for him to get stats. Orlando gets a 20 ppg scorer while only giving up small pieces and one of their extra draft picks. Orlando needs proven players to put alongside their young guns. This would be a bad way to generate some buzz for the city, and make a run at a play-in spot.
