Rockets - Houston is in a great position to push in the West as the current number 2 seed in a wide open West. RW3 adds championship level experience as he’s been to a finals before, and elite defense and rim running. He’d be a great backup for Sengun and this also gets them off the Landale contract. The second round picks don’t mean a ton for the Rockets as they already have loads of young talent.

Blazers - Portland has no need for RW3 as they have a young center in Clingan to develop. Here they offload him for 3 second rounders to add to a stockpile of picks. Landale can be traded, just benched for the season, or cut. Either way they also offload salary to free up more space.
