Raptors Trade Deal

  • Raptors Sent Thaddenus Young And Otto Porter To The Knicks For Evan Fournier

  • Raptors Sent Malachi Flynn To The Hornets For A 2026 Top-3 Protected Srp

Signings

  • Signs Hill To A 1 Year/2.3m

  • Signs Neto To A 1 Year/2.1m

Trade Explanation

(Raptors)

  • Raptors Traded For Evan Fournier, An Elite Shooter That Raptors Would Desperately Wants. Last Season, Raptors Was One Of The Worst 3pt Shooting Teams In The NBA, They Were Bottom 3 In 3PM & 3PT%. There Floor Spacing Was Horrendous & Can't Make A Shot For Their Dear Life. Thus, They Traded For A Player (Evan Fournier) That Can Possibly Elevate Their 3pt Shooting Depth. Fournier Is Basically A Shy' 40% Sniper Downtown With 6 To 8 Attempts Per Game, His Catch & Shoot Is Very Elite And His Off Ball Actions Is A Threat. Mixing That Up With Siakam's Playmaking Skills & Vision Would Be An Easy Bucket. Darko (Raptors New Head Coach) Would Probably Want More Offensive Threats Like Fournier On His Arsenal. I Also Can Definitely See Them Assigning Fournier To Mentor Their Newest Rookie, Gradey Dick. He & Gradey Can Honestly Make A Nice Shooting Tandem. This 6'7 French Player Will Easily Be A Valuable Piece For The Team & One Of Their Key Bench Players. Furthermore, Raptors Also Sent Away Flynn To The Hornets. They Were Able To Get A Protected Second Back & The Main Reason Was To Free More Roster Spots For Additional Signings Which Turns Out To Be Hill & Neto Who They Really Need On Their Guard Depth, They Are Already Proven & Got Experience.

(Knicks)

  • Front Office Traded Fournier For Two Versatile Forwards. First Was Otto Porter, A Quality Role Player That Can Contribute In Both Ends Of The Floor, His Impact On Offense & Defense What Really Makes Him A Reliable 2-Way Role Player (I Really Like Him On The Warriors) Although, With His Health And Age, The Value Of Him In The Market Is Not That High Anymore But He Is Still A Nice Player To Have. Knicks Also Got Thaddeus Young, A Solid Veteran Big, His Spacing Is Okay, Is A Nice Passer, Craft Ball Handler And He Is Versatile Defensively. He Can Be A Solid Depth Piece. Otto And Young Can Honestly Thrive Into Tom Thibodeau System Especially His Defensive Schemes, We All Know Thibs Defensive System Is Top-Notch. So Yeah, I Can Definitely See This Addition Of Otto & Young Will Be Very Complementary For Their Offense & Especially Their Defense. Knicks Are Lacking Some Forwards On Their Bench As Well So This Is Very Considerable. They Were Able To Get Rid Of Fournier's Contract & Acquires 2 Forwards That They Can Utilize And Will Possibly Need Postseason Time Due To Their Experience. For Me, This Is Some Pretty Decent Move For The Knicks.

(Hornets)

  • Hornets Looks Into Adding More Guards On Their Bench, Thus, They Traded For Flynn Who Can Be A Decent Young Back-up Point Guard For The Team.
