An offseason plan with trade and draft explanation, 15 man lineup after all transaction, and thoughts on this new-look team ~ feel free to leave comments on the plan!
Trade:
Hawks: Buddy Hield, 26, 2 srps
Pacers: John Collins
Hawks want to save some cap, and they can use another shooter
Clearing that Collins long term contract also is sth the Hawks seems wanting to do
Pistons: Chris Durate
Pacers: srp
Pistons just seem like those teams who take in underperforming rookie-contract guys, like how they take in Wiseman last season
Draft:
7th pick: Ausar Thompson
29th pick: Sidy Cissoko
Trading the 2 other srps to somewhere for couple pairs of socks
FA:
Resign Oshai Brissett 2 years 9M
Donte Divicenzo 2 years 20M
Lineup:
Starting:
Tyrese Donte Ausar Collins Turner
Bench:
Nembhard Mathurin Nesmith Smith Jackson
Reserves:
McConnell Sidy Nwora Brissett Theis
Conclusion:
This is gonna be a scary young core
Let's talk bout that Collins Tyrese link first, that gonna be another lob city in the making
Then they got shooters surrounding Tyrese who's a real gd floor general, Donte who also will provide lockdown defense, Mathurin who looks to keep improving, Nesmith, Nwora, etc
Turner to me is a lifetime Pacers till this point. His rim protection is near irreplaceable, while also hving the shooting, similar players include JJJ and Brook Lopez, end of list
I do hv hope for Ausar in this team. He will be a great cutter and i think another lob threat in Indiana. He also provide some versatility which will kinda help out Collins slightly below average defense
Overall, i think this team is quite well constructed, in long term the 1-3 should be Tyrese Mathurin Ausar but for now if Indiana want to win more i think starting DOnte will be a smarter option, but Mathurin will still play like 28+ mins
