Dame Trade

There’s really no way I see this Blazers team being able to make a move to make them contenders without trading most of their picks and Sharpe so their best option is to rebuild. They start by trading the face of the franchise for the last 10 years, Damian Lillard, to the Pels. In return they get CJ McCollum (for financial reasons) who was popular during his time in Portland and can be the veteran presence on what will be a young Blazers team next year after this trade. They also get lottery pick in last years draft Dyson Daniels, who still has a lot of potential and Jason Hayes, who’s been a bit of a disappointment so far in his career but could improve in a new situation. They of course also get 3 1st round picks and 1 2nd rounder. 2 of the 1sts come from LA meaning that they have a high chance of being in the lottery.

Grant Sign&Trade

The Blazers Next Move is trading Jerami Grant to the Hornets in a S&T return for PJ Washington (also in an S&T) along with a future 1st (top 10 protected, could be less protected but Charlotte would probably want some protections on it) and 2 2nd round picks, one in this years draft. Washington would have a bigger role in Portland than in Charlotte and could become a 20ppg scorer in the best case scenario, and a 1st and 2nds is a solid return for a guy you would lose in free agency anyway.

I’d also resign some of the younger players who would be solid rotational guys or are still developing if I’m the Blazers plus Drew Eubanks who’s been solid this year.

• Resign Cam Reddish on a 4 year deal
