Miami- I don’t think Jimmy will get traded, but if they do I believe this is decent value for him. Jimmy is on the wrong side of 35 and can’t quite put up the same production he used to be able to. Still, he’s an efficient 20 PPG scorer so he’s worth at least a couple frps. This gives the Heat 2 decent frps and two players that can help them push for a playoff spot. The frps won’t be anything special since they’re protected but there’s a good chance they end up in the mid teens which is decent for Jimmy. Also if they don’t wanna keep Hardaway’s contract, he’s only got one year left.
Detroit- The Pistons have been much better than they expected to be this year due to great development from Cade Cunningham and the weakness of the Eastern Conference. However, if they want to make any noise in the playoffs and avoid the play in, they need a guy like Jimmy Butler who has been in the playoffs and can go out and get a bucket when they need him to. This is a low risk trade with their picks being protected as they should be contending at that point. Jimmy also provides a veteran leader who can help mentor Ron Holland II and Ausar Thompson, two players who should be key parts of the Detroit future. Losing Harris and THJ isn’t that big of a deal since Jimmy steps in for Harris and THJ can be easily replaced
