The Magic get the best player in the deal, which is why they are sending out the most assets. Garland can take some of the pressure off of Franz and Paolo, and would form a dynamic backcourt with Suggs.

The Cavs get the wing scoring they desperately need, as well as a first and second round pick in a loaded 2025 draft. This increases the overall size of their lineup, and makes them more of a threat come the playoffs.

The Pelicans desperately need a starting caliber big man, and they get that in WCJ. They also get a dynamic sixth man in Cole Anthony. Howard is a young player with potential which is also valuable. Most importantly though, they get good value out of a player they don’t want to pay.
