They get Kyle Kuzma, a versatile wing who can be a second offensive option behind Curry and alongside Kuminga taking shots from the outside and attacking the rim. They also get Wendell Carter Jr., a very versatile center who can defend very well without fouling, set screens and play pick and roll all night long but also improvise due to his offensive skill package. Both Kuzma and Carter Jr. could be perfect replacements for Wiggins and Louney. But not only can they be a significant upgrade on the court, but both still have several years left on their contracts at low payouts. These qualities give the Warriors the financial flexibility to sign Curry and Kuminga to new extensions in 2025.

The reason these moves are possible is because the Wizards can start rebuilding around Alex Sarr and Collibali since the rest of the roster has some value but underperformed together and it’s almost certain that they will dismantle the roster in exchange for a pick and start blatant tanking. On the other hand, the Magic have 3 centers and 2 of them have already been re-signed after both of them. Needing to clear cap space to re-sign Jalen Suggs and Paolo Banchero, they could easily trade Carter Jr. for players with only one year left on their contracts and some rounds.*

*The rounds will depend on the quality of the negotiations made by Dunleavey Jr.'s team.

Ultimately, Kerr would be left with a roster full of experienced and versatile players to make all the combinations he can think of. A potential starting five could be: 1) Curry, 2) Hields 3) Kuzma, 4) Kuminga, 5) Green or Carter Jr.. And a second unit with: 1) Podziemski 2) Melton or Waters 3) Santos or Plowden 4) Anderson and 5) Jackson-Davis.

I firmly believe that in the current scenario this is the best possible move that the Warriors can make to be truly competitive in playing their game next season.
