Grizzlies: The Grizzlies do this because they need a 5 after trading Adams. Ayton will be a better scoring threat than Adams allowing JJJ to play more perimeter. This will also keep JJJ out of foul trouble having to bang against bigs. Losing Aldama hurts but I think overall this trade helps the Grizzlies in the future.

Blazers: The Blazers do this because Ayton just isn’t fitting in like they hoped he would. Aldama might be a better fit at the 5 next to scoot as he will space the floor and allow Scoot to attack the basket. The Blazers defensive issues would be covered by Rob Williams whenever he comes back. They also steal a shooter.

Cavs: The Cavs do this to simply to improve their perimeter defense. Despite bouncing around the league. Oladepo is still a capable defender and underrated passer. This will help the Cavs bench and he can play with both of Cleveland’s Guards and even with them both at times.
