Why would the Hawks do this?

• Well, it's not a secret that the Hawks need more star power after the departure of Murray, who played well for y'all but didn't mesh the best with Trae. The Hawks cash in the rest of their tradable firsts and some of their young talent to acquire Lauri who would then resign using the cap space created in the trade. I think Markkanen would be a great second star next to trae with his fantastic off-ball movement and high-shooting splits.

Why would the Jazz do this?

• The Jazz can get a great return from the Hawks with 3 firsts and young players of Okongwu and Bufkin as well as a salary dump in Hunter, who let's be honest, did not turn out to be the player the Hawks projected him to be.

general notes:

• Hawks still need to figure out some of their bench lineup up maybe in another trade. They currently have 4 centers on the roster (Nance counts as a center but I think he fits better as a PF personally). But this could be done by targeting a true backup such as Monte Morris or Tre Jones or something as well as a bench forward like Torrey Craig or if your lucky Simone Fontecchio.
