ATLANTA HAWKS

Atlanta uses their TPE accrued from trading Luke Kennard to the Lakers to acquire Oklahoma City's Aaron Wiggins for two second-round picks. One of them is their 2030 second-round pick. The other is their 2032 second-round pick. This could help the Hawks increase the amount of spacing for a bigger trade they could look to make as they try to build around Jalen Johnson. Aaron Wiggins can be a key weapon coming off of Atlanta's bench. Their starting lineup to open the 2026-27 NBA season remains unchanged as well.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER

Oklahoma City makes a trade that helps them cut costs and try to get the under second apron. Getting off of Aaron Wiggins and the $9 million he is owed for the 2026-27 NBA season will help them out in this regard. Moreover, this should be a move of what is to come as the Thunder try to duck the second apron. Finally, their starting lineup remains unchanged, just like Atlanta's.

Both teams benefit. The trade just happened.
