If this were two years ago, I would've Trae Young hard passed on this deal. But now, I'm more open to pair Bradley Beal with Trae Young. In case you're wondering, no, I am not saying Trae, Dejounte, and Bradley should play together. I expect DJ to be traded this offseason. A lot of us Hawks fans had high expectations for the backcourt tandem of DejonTrae. There were concerns about the fit. Dejounte is not the greatest scorer. His jumpshot is painfully inconsistent, and sadly, those inconsistencies have magnified as of late. Even Trae's game has taken a hit this season with Dejounte on board. Trae and DJ just don't make each other better as we hoped. It's time go in another direction.

Ideally, Jaylen Brown is the guy I would prefer. But let's be real- Boston is not letting him go, especially not to the Hawks. They will resign him this offseason. I have a strong hunch that Bradley Beal is the guy the Hawks will pursue. Trae and Brad are both known to be bad defensive guards, but there is no doubt that they could maximize each other's game offensively. Brad is a veteran player who can still score at an All-Star caliber level. I still don't love this pairing, but Brad would be a better fit next to Trae.
