The Hawks have guys listed as PGs, but they're really all hybrids and none can cover PG minutes when Trae is off the floor. Vit Krejci is a Point Forward, not someone who can outright play Point Guard and clearly he isn't meant to be the primary creator on the team when Trae isn't playing. Kobe Bufkin is a Shooting Guard, Keaton Wallace is playing PG but is also a natural SG. They don't have a backup PG that can truly play that role in terms of just setting the team up for the like 12 minutes a game that Trae won't be playing, getting Collin Gillespie can fix that a little bit. He is a true Point Guard, one that can play and move well off ball and play disciplined defense, no surprise since he spent five years at college before being signed by Denver in 2022 and then playing in the g-league for 2 years. The Suns don't really need him on their roster though, and with him being injury prone as he was also injury riddled on Denver, they probably don't mind moving him. A simple swap with the Hawks lands them Keaton Wallace, not wowing by any means but a guy that can give them some juice off the bench whenever he's called. It's not a special trade that'll push the needle toward any direction for either of these teams, but it's a safe trade that gives both viable additions.
No need for long essays here like I've usually done on my previous posts.
