The Washington Wizards have reportedly emerged as a legitimate trade suitor for Trae Young, with a potential deal being centered around the expiring contract of CJ McCollum.

NBA Insider Marc Stein reports that the Wizards have a "legitimate" interest in acquiring the four-time All-Star point guard. The appeal for Washington is that Young could serve as a true facilitator and primary offensive threat to build around their young core players like Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George.

McCollum could be resigned by Atlanta for a lower salary compared to his 30 million in the summer or find another team and give the Hawks some flexibilit. For the time he is in Atlanta, he would be a veteran presence to the team who can score the ball.

Kispert is a little overpaid so if the Hawks do this deal, Luke Kennard would most likely be traded in another deal before the deadline.

As I said before, the number and the picks specifically would be negotiated by the Hawks and Wizards to find a good spot.
