The Hawks get their long term 5, Grizzlies begin the rebuild

After watching the Hawks play the Lakers last night the lack of rim protection was noticeable. Also the absence of Risacher, Porzingis and Kennard was also noticeable, considering recent AD trade talks as reported by Shams.

I have been a big advocate of parting with significant draft capital, Risacher and our expiring deals to get Jaren Jackson Jr. He spaces the floor, is very switchable which is significant in the way the Hawks have played defense this season, can protect the rim, is tied down to a long term deal and very importantly has good injury history unlike Porzingis. I also think Cam Spencer has one of the best contracts in the league for his production and KCP can provide that championship experience, alongside adding another 3 & D player to the mix.

Also recently Rich Paul talked about JJJ on this podcast with Max Kellerman not wanting to stick around for the pending Memphis rebuild. Memphis would get a good young player in Risacher, 1st round picks for the next 3 drafts and 2 expiring deals which opens up cap room this summer.

Thoughts Hawks and Grizzlies fans?
