The Pacers probably won't be able to afford a new contract for Bennedict Mathurin so they get some value for him from Atlanta in the 2026 1st (most likely from the Cavaliers) and a 2nd.

The Pacers take in more money by taking Kennard's contract but it does expire after the season. He could fit with the Pacers as a very efficient 3-pt shooter when Haliburton returns next season or he could just not be resigned by Indiana.

Mathurin could be resigned (especially if they let Porzingis walk) by the Hawks next summer but for this current season, he would be a great 6th or 7th man for Atlanta and can provide another consistent scoring boost.
