I’m glad DeRoz’ came home…the Kings trade for DeMar, with Portland becoming the third team to take on salary.

The reports have recently been that DeMar is in talks to go to the Kings via Sign + Trade. Here’s a trade idea that I think could work for each team.

The Bulls have wanted Kevin Huerter in any trade for their players, and they get him, as well as a protected 2027 first rounder in return for the all-star in DeMar. It doesn’t seem like an overpay as DeMar is still really good, and the Kings should be decent in 2027.

It’s been told what’s holding up the DeMar to the Kings trade is that the Bulls don’t want to take in extra salary compared to what DeMar would sign. So…Portland becomes the third team to help facilitate by taking in Harrison Barnes’ $18 million, and give Sacramento Matisse Thybulle, who is kind of the odd man out in Portland’s current guard line-up. He comes to Sacramento and provides some guard/forward depth behind Fox, DeMar, Monk, Keegan, and Devin Carter.

And then the prize, DeMar returns home to California. Although not as near to Compton, DeMar comes and becomes the starting SG/SF for the Kings and provides the Kings another scorer next to Sabonis and Fox, and another proven Clutch time scorer. Defense will be somewhat optional, but that’s partly what Thybulle is in the return. If all you have to give up is a protected first and Kevin Huerter to the Bulls for DeMar…pull the trigger 👊🏼
