Continuing my theme of under the radar type trades is a two team trade between the Knicks and the Lakers. Since it seems like the star trades are pretty well covered, I tried to see the various trades that could work with mainly Bogdanovic plus a 2024 pick and here's another one.
Knicks: The Knicks need more depth in the frontcourt and while neither Vanderbilt or Hood-Schifino is going to light it up on offense, Vanderbilt in particular is a solid defender who can soak up some non-Randle minutes. Hood-Schifino is also a young player who needs some time to grow that he likely won't get on the Lakers anytime soon. He's a rangy wing who has the tools to succeed on defense and perhaps even one day on offense. In any case, both give the Knicks more depth at the 3/4 position. The Knicks give up the #25 pick in this years draft as it was unlikely the Knicks were going to draft 3 players anyways.
Lakers: The Lakers desperately need a move to maximize the title window of Lebron and Anthony Davis. Now this is not that move but it is one that gives them a great 3 point shooter that they desperately need and they also get a FRP and a 2026 second rounder. This would likely not be the last move that the Lakers make and they could either use both FRPs to draft some young players or flip them (or Bogdonavic as well) for a star. Note: to make this work financially, I had to decline Christian Woods option, although it's a player option.
