A 3-Way trade to get Dame to NY is most likely the route to take if this was to get done.

Cleveland - Sexton is a rising guard in this league with all star potential, the Cavs won't extend, focusing on Garland as their lead guard, packaging KLove in this deal is crucial, only 2 years left on his deal, Cleveland sends him off to the Northwest where he has been rumored to go to before. In exchange they receive two young players, Obi & Knox to add to their young roster with addition picks to keep building their desired team.

Portland - You won't get equal value for Dame, trading him for Ben Simmons won't get you further than you were and you would have more questions than answers if you acquired him for Dame. So going with a young, hungry youthful player can give this franchise something that Dame implanted, toughness and consistency. The talent is not equal but with the amount of picks from both NY & Cleveland to take on KLoves contract, they have hope to build something as close to as what they've had with Dame.

New York - An all star point guard in NY isn't something Knicks fans of this generation have seen yet. Having him in the Garden with RJ Barrett, Julius Randle and coach Thibbs brings hope for a brighter future in Dames career hopes for a title in the Eastern Conference, with his leadership and talented attributes accompanied with this team's stellar defense from last year, the Knicks can have a better chance to excell further in the playoffs than they have in other 20 years.
