Trades

Send Dalton Knecht, a 2031 unprotected first round pick, and a 2028 first round pick swap to the Utah Jazz for Walker Kessler. Dump Maxi Kleber, a 2025 LAL second round pick, and a 2032 LAL top 40 protected second round pick to the Brooklyn Nets.

Kessler provides a big that can protect the rim and catch lobs. He would be perfect for a team with Luka and LeBron and raises the Lakers' playoff ceiling. Knecht isn't very good and not a championship caliber player as he is a cone defensively. With Luka, I wouldn't be worried about picks, so that won't be a big deal as they'll have a core of Luka, Reaves, and Kessler. The Kleber trade helps the Lakers get out of the first apron going in…

So Chris Paul has said that he wants to continue playing in the NBA. He turns 40 in May, and he becomes a free agent this summer. So, as a last gasp to potentially win a title, he gets his long awaited move to the Lakers, and signs a 1 year, $2 million minimum contract in free agency…

Bulls finally get off of Vucevic. It’s not for much, but the rebuilding Bulls get a first round pick out of an old Vucevic. It’s good enough for Bulls and very realistic. Lakers get a much needed center. Vucevic is still a solid floor stretching center despite his age. Lakers are starting Jaxson Hayes at center and are in desperate need of one. Giving up one of their few first round picks hurts, but considering they have Luka, and most likely still LeBron, that first round pick isn’t the most valuable. Bulls get two expiring contracts and a first, Lakers get an aging but solid center, who says no? Do the Bulls think they can get more off of Vucevic?
