This combines two proposed trades by ESPN today involving the first pick and I actually like this better than either pick individually. Here is a link to the article: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45425353/potential-trades-top-2025-nba-draft-pick-cooper-flagg-dallas-mavericks#cle

The first deal they propose sends the 1st pick to San Antonio for the 2nd Pick, the 14th pick, Atlanta's 2027 First Round Pick, and the return of the Dallas 2030 pick swap to move down one pick. This sets up San Antonio to pick Flagg first.

Dallas reroutes the 2nd pick to Cleveland with PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, and Martin (who goes to San Antonio) for Donovan Mitchell. This allows Cleveland to take Harper 2nd who is a bigger guard and should be able to play with Garland. His size should make him at least serviceable as a defender and he could be better. The rest of the trade goes as ESPN proposes except instead of Javon Carter going from Chicago to Cleveland, Jeremy Sochan goes to Cleveland instead and Martin goes to San Antonio (so Carter isn't traded at all).

I really think that this would be a scenario that every team would have to seriously consider. Cleveland gets a big guard to play with Garland, Sochan could develop into a defensive stopper, and Washington and Gafford are quality rotation players. Dallas gets a ton of draft capital while also getting Mitchell, and San Antonio gets Flagg to pair with Wemby.
