LeBron James takes a huge pay cut to help the Los Angeles Lakers build a contender and signs for the veteran minimum.

Re signings:

• Rui to a 3year, $54 million deal

• Reaves to a 4year, $136 million deal

Marcus Smart opts in. Deandre Ayton opts out (he doesn’t have a choice).

Signings:

• Watson to a 4-year, $120 million contract

• Robert Williams to a 2-year, $18 million contract

• Thybulle to a 1-year veteran minimum deal

Trade: The Los Angeles Lakers trade Jake LaRavia and the 25th overall pick to the New Orleans Pelicans for Yves Missi. The Pelicans have a lot of frontcourt players, and I think Missi might be the odd man out. The Pelicans also don’t have a first round pick, so we could give them ours to help them add young talent.

Trade: The Los Angeles Lakers trade Vando, Dalton and a second-round pick to the Clippers for Derrick Jones Jr.
