I don't know if these same 3 teams would engage in another move after the collectively decided to bend the NBA over but I do believe that if you take the PR out of it....this deal makes quite a lot of sense

For Dallas...Sexton provides an instant scoring presence. Someone who has experience in being a lead guard can initiate your offense and function as a scorer. The defense however, is a concern. But as far as being a stabalizer till Irving gets back...you can't do much better. Not to mention, I think he has the potential to be a lethal 6th man when Irving does come back.

For Utah....This is a haul for a player who's probably leaving next season. Sexton doesn't match the Jazz timeline, so netting a first, decent young player in Knecht is solid. Taking on the Martin contract is rough, but I do think it's fair since I don't know if Sexton is worth an unprotected first in this market.

LA gets Gafford. Slots right in as their starting center. If they could do this without Knecht I do think they would explore it. Maybe use Shake Milton instead. But I do think they'd be open to this.
