Why the Clippers do this:

A first and a swap is probably the highest offer the Clippers will get for James Harden. Let’s sell high and send Chris Paul with him, bringing in Gary Trent Jr. to gain opportunity.

Why the Bucks do this:

One last attempt to keep Giannis. This team is good enough to dig itself out of the hole and win a title if healthy, and the Bucks put all their eggs in the basket of this season. They only have 28 losses, and they bet they can lose less than ten more games this season and make a postseason run. And if it doesn’t work, you blow it back up in the offseason with almost no long-term assets lost.

Why the Lakers do this:

Chris Paul regularly takes young guards to the next level through mentorship. Can he do this with Luka, Reaves, and/or Bronny, turning them all into valuable assets, while letting the Point God retire at home in LA? Cole Anthony is also an upgrade at the backup guard spot over Gabe Vincent.
