Lakers gut a Lot of their previous core for two-way talent. Current core rotation has serious flaws in terms of consistency, defense, rebounding and volume shooting. The new additions add much needed depth at the center position, even though taking a big risk on Williams health. DFS is replacing rui and Vanderbilt solving previous lineup problems, where Lakers had to choose between either offense or defense. DiVincenzo is having a pretty tough start to the season but is in theory one of the best volume shooters with on & off-ball skills complimenting Lebron and AD's skillsets. He is also a decent defender at a position of need for the Lakers. Taking on Lonzo Ball is definitely a risky bet, his recovery / ramping up phase will take a lot of time still. The upside however being an elite all-around guard come the playoffs, given the Lakers assets he might be the cheapest yet highest potential player on the market for them.
