Why Spurs do this?

The Spurs convert an expiring contract into a future FRP along with Marc Gasol who can be a mentor to the young core of spurs and with the departure of Patty Mills Dennis Schroder can be the ideal replacement and he can evolve as a sixth man and show his worth for a big payday that he desires and schroder as a sixth man is more effective for him than being a starting PG and it can clearly be seen when comparing his time with OKC and LAL.

Why Lakers do this?

The Lakers would be happy to get Thaddeus Young to cover up their defensive patches with the new lineup and would be glad to get him for this package and will look to keep him long term if he fits nicely.

Paul Milsap

His experience can’t be ignored and is a good post defender with multiple playoff game experiences plus he has the ability to grab boards and hit the 3 when necessary although streaky at times.Will be worth for the vet min

Lamarcus Aldridge

With Gasol Being sent to spurs Aldridge can be the most ideal replacement for him. Aldridge, standing in at six-eleven, is that traditional five that can help on the glass and work near the rim. He may only get 10-15 minutes per game or even less but that is fine, especially as he eases into playing and makes sure it is safe.

Isaiah Thomas

Giving IT a chance to showcase his skill and get a ring would be the best thing for him and he would be fine to play in the 3rd unit as a PG

Wiith AD agreeing to move and play alot of minutes at C it gives the flexibility to lakers to use one of the most balanced lineups.
