A. Re-signing players
AR15
Lakers can only offer 11.5mil a year for 4y max. So AR best deal here is to sign 23mil/2y contract bcoz Lakers could offer more after that.
Unless another team offer him more then Lakers can match it up with early bird.
The contract would be something like
11.5mil
11.5mil
28.5mil
28.5mil
Depends on how much the Lakers have to match but the first 2years will be at 11.5mil.
Rui Hachimura
Im guessing he gonna get a similar contract to Kuz. A 3y contract with a PO in his 3rd year.
DLo
Also another guess that he will sign a longer term around 25mil a year.
Schroder
Lakers should use the MLE on him, it might be the 6mil MLE im not sure yet. But he has been an important piece for the Lakers so far under Darvin Ham.
Wenyen Gabriel
Lakers going to use the BiAnnual on him or might just sign him for another minimum type of contract. This means that i believe the Lakers got no choice than to let Lonnie and Troy walks.
B. Trade idea
Lakers package is Beasley and a 2nd only, i dont think Lakers will spend a 1st for next season no matter what.
Some trade ideas for that kind of package are (from the most i personally like to the least) :
Jordan Clarkson and Kris Dunn (Schroder wont be re-signed if Lakers get Dunn)
Luke Kennard
Collin Sexton (Schroder wont be re-signed if Lakers get Sexton)
Norman Powell
Kevin Porter Jr.
Clarkson have 3 options with the Jazz :
Accept his PO and stay for another year for a possibly another mediocre season
Decline his PO to go to another team where he gonna have a better offer
Accept his PO with the Jazz promising him to trade him to a contending team while he is still in his prime (Lakers is being one of them).
And if the Lakers can get Kris Dunn too then it would be a nice replacement for Schroder if somehow he got like a 16mil offer from another team for some bizzare reason.
C. Draft day
With point A and B on my mind above, Lakers would have enough guards in DLo, AR15, Schroder, and whoever we get from the Beasley trade. Worst case is just to keep Beasley around and improve his shooting consistency.
Also Lakers will still have Bamba that we hope going to improve when he is around Lebron. And Gabriel too. So Lakers wont be looking for bigs in the draft as well.
So Lakers will pick a wing here for both shooting and defensive purpose.
Also knowing how Pelinka works, Lakers will most likely pick an under 20yo player
So a possible 17th "3 and D wing" pick for the Lakers are :
Jett Howard
Kobe Bufkin (not really a wing but definitely will be a consideration, might be a replacement for Schroder)
Dariq Whitehead
Leonard Miller
GG Jackson
Bilal Coulibaly
Noah Clowney
And for the 47th pick, its hard to analyze who still available on the board. Any suggestions?
D. Lakers depth chart
PG : DLo // Schroder // Dunn
SG : Reaves // Clarkson // Christie
SF : Bron // Jett // the 47th pick
PF : Vando // Rui
C : AD // Gabriel // Bamba
Its already a 14 men roster, 13 men if Beasley doesnt get traded.
