I’ll be doing a team by team breakdown as to why they do it and give a return grade
Lakers
This one is obvious the Lakers have a shooting and defense problem and this somewhat fixes both of them they get an elite defender two quality shooters and a young Center who has some untapped potential they also move off of expirings but lose almost all of their picks and control over them but they are trying to win a championship or at least compete. Grade A-
Warriors
They can’t keep Jimmy and they simply hate Kuminga so this trade helps them get players that can actually help out this team and Steph to become better and compete they don’t get any better on defense with this but they are already okay in that department and they also move off of Butler who is basically dead cap. Grade A
Kings
This is the most questionable trade of the bunch imo because they get a young guy and a couple picks but also take on a horrific contract because of him not playing for basically the remainder of it but they aren’t going to contend any time soon so trading for picks and upside is the best move for them but this year is questionable. Grade B-
Pelicans they get two future picks expiring contracts and a young shooter who can maybe be a long term piece they don’t need Herb because he’s a win now player and they are in the exact opposite of the right spot for him and they already have a franchise center and don’t utilize Missi enough but still they might want an extra swap in here. Grade B+
Hawks they basically swap expirings gain an extra one and have control over LA 2028 pick but not much changes for them in any direction so not a crazy trade. Grade B-
Lemme know what you think of this trade in the comments and if you think each team would do it and if not why
