AD resigned!!!!! 186 million over the next 3 years, along with 2 left on his current contract. I have mixed opinions on this tbh.

Positive side - he’s been great for us. Lead the league in rebounds, lead the playoffs in stocks, and he’s been a 25/10 guy for us since we first got him. Let’s not forget we won a chip with him. Having him long term mean we’re committed to contending until the decades end. Having AD also increases our chances of keeping Bron next offseason. Even without Bron, an AD lead lakers team with a great depth will always be a contender, as we saw post deadline this year. Definitely means we won’t see another version of the baby lakers though.

Negative side - I’m not sure about giving 60 million to a 34/35 year old. We saw that with Kobe, and the hit on the salary cap is gonna be monumental. A buyout would be the largest in NBA history too. However, likely the fo can afford to pay that, and the revenue he brings in won’t make it a big deal. Regression is gonna hit like a truck too. Hopefully AD can work on his jump shot a little more and work on stretching the floor by then, as what Melo, Aldridge and Brook Lopez did as they got older. But that money man. Idk, you guys let me know how you feel. Always loved AD, especially since his New Orleans days, and having him for another 5 on top of the last 4, will always be a nice thing for me. Hopefully we can win a chip in the coming years.
