Why the Kings Do It ⬇️: ............................................................................................. .......................................................................................................................................................................................... ........................................................................................... .......................................................................................................................................................................................... Lakers trade their developed talent Reaves for Kings developed talent Murray Here's Why:⬇️........................................................ ............................... Murray fits more of the current need for the Lakers as a versatile 3 and D player than can guard positions 2-4 while shooting 38% from three for his career. Also the Lakers get 27 years old in his basketball prime and sixth man of the year from just a year ago in Malik Monk who can replace the scoring load of Austin Reaves having averaged 17.0 ppg just last season.
Why the Kings Do It: Kings receive Reaves to be their long-term De'Aaron Fox replacement to create an all-star worthy tandem when coupled with Damontas Sabonis. Reaves is a do it all lead guard who averaged 5.8 assist and 4.5 rebounds along with 20.0 ppg last season which would balance out their staring 5 including Lavine and Derozan. Kings also receive draft capital and cap relief after 2026 along with Dalton Knecht who is on a manageable rookie contract to serve as a close to 40% career three point shooter for floor spacing which is especially needed on this team.
