Hawks are looking for future draft capital and cap relief. Here they are able to attach the Hunter contract to Dejounte and get the Lakers 2029 frp. Two intriguing prospects in JHS and Max Lewis and a massive expiring in Gordon Hayward who has prior experience under coach Quin Snyderand can be retained at a cheaper cost this summer.

The Hornets becomes the third team to take not only DLo but also the Hunter contract, instead of losing Hayward this summer for nothing or via buyout. They downgrade from Richards to Hayes but improve their overall depth of talent without giving up major assets. DLo also helps their flexibility in moving Rozier down the line.

The Lakers get their point guard upgrade and a necessary upgrade at the backup 5 spot without overhauling the roster. The two rookies essentially act as 1-2 frps on top of the 2029 1st.
