King do the trade to get off demar contract and pick up draft capital. Keon Ellis being on expiring contract and currently not being a starter getting a lightly protected first is good value for him.

Lakers do the trade to add another defensive guard that can be a piece to pair with Luka and AR going forward. Demar would replace rue offensive production while being a better defensive player. Also demar has been wanting be a lakers for a long time. He would easily be one the best bench score in the nba. He’s great locker room guy and can be a play finisher.

At first i wasn’t crazy about the idea but more I think about it im open to the to this trade.
