Reasoning:

Lakers - Following the Ayton signing the lakers have sorted their starting big man issue whilst maintaining all their trade assets. With all their assets available why not go all out and get a perfect 3&D package plus a backup big!

Now I understand this deal probably gets done only if reaves is involved however, Reaves doesn’t fit the pelicans team and the pels would have more of a roster need for a wing (Rui) rather than a guard (Reaves).

Pelicans - Doesn’t really make much sense for the pels but they have made questionable moves recently like drafting queen and signing looney, so maybe they continue in making this trade lol. I guess Rui improves their 4 depth and dalton can be a nice backup 2. Plus the draft capital return is pretty good.
