If Mavs and P.J. can't agree on an extension, Lakers swap Rui and Knecht for P.J. and Martin, with Nets included for Financial reasons and receiving 2 second round picks for Highsmith.
P.J. would provide Lakers with a versatile, athletic defender starting at SF who fits well with Luka, while also receiving 2 other capable defenders to round out the rotation.
Mavs get one of the best C+S forwards in the league in Rui, while also receiving a young player with potential in Knecht, with swaps included to bridge value difference. Getting off martin's long term contract and having Rui's expiring gives Mavs some flexibility moving forward also.
Lakers:
PG: Luka/Smart
SG: Reaves/Martin
SF: P.J./Highsmith
PF: LeBron/LaRavia
C: Ayton/Hayes
Mavs:
PG: Dlo/Kyrie
SG: Klay/Christie
SF: Flagg/Naji
PF: AD/Rui
C: Lively/Gafford
