My vision for the Mavericks

I've been seeing a lot of things regarding Bridges and how he could fit in Dallas. So I thought to myself why not find a cheaper version with a similar playstyle. Honestly, I see how Cameron Johnson could fit into the Mavs lineup. He's a good shooter with size and a great defender. I think he'll be able to score well with the defense focused on Luka and Kyrie who are great ball handlers/playmakers who get the attention off of other players. With that said, they could create opportunities for Cam to get open for a catch and shoot. Cam has the ability to be a threat on the perimeter with his shooting and ability to space the floor which will also give opportunities to others. He can create for himself through both his off ball movement which gets him open as well as his on ball movement in which he can gain space. He's established a second offensive weapon in cutting through the defense with great timing which is where he generates his inside points. This has been efficient to the point where it allows him to attract the attention of defenders and bail out to another cutter or an open shooter. Lets talk about his defense now. He is reliable when it comes to perimeter defense, and his positioning. Cam has great iq when it comes to this, his ability to switch effectively as a help defender has been a huge impact in preventing a shot. This is because of his good vision which helps him in predicting the opponents move. Also worth noting is that his utilisation of his strength allows him to defend stronger and bigger opponents. An aggressive playstyle that adds pressure to ball handlers. He also pokes the ball out of his defenders hand quite often and also gets a steal. He has a dedication to stopping his matchup from making it to the basket which could be seen through the hits he takes which draws charges. Doesn't let screens stop him, continues running and catches up to his matchup or stops the pick and roll. Always contests a shot, doesn' necessarily get blocks and he's decent at getting boards. However, a major downside of this trade is his health and availability. I truly believe he could get better with the mavs though, he's a great role player that I personally think plays better on a good team. Sure his stats may be better on the nets as he gets more opportunities as one of their best players but that could make him seen as inconsistent due to shot attempts. I think for players like him, teams like this add pressure for him to succeed which impact performance. If the mavs take a chance at him I think they could potentially maximise his performance like they've done with PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford and could definitely fit into that SF position as a bigger player.

Now for other factors, the mavs will be able to let go of Tim Hardaway Jr who has been disappointing recently and get off his contract. Losing young players such as Josh Green and Oliver-Maxence Prosper who could develop into something might suck but with their recent playoff performance and finals appearance, I'd assume they would like to find more players that can contribute to winning. What better time to do it than the off season?

My vision for the Nets

Let's talk about the nets, probably the most confusing team right now. It's not clear which direction they will be taking going forward, but realistically it's time to rebuild. They already have noticeable players like Cam Thomas, Nicolas Claxton who they have to resign and two new rookies in Noah Clowney and Dariq Whitehead. They should focus on the development of these players and their play time is an important factor for this. It's time to move on from players like Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Dennis Schroder and especially Ben Simmons. I personally think Josh Green can fit into this rebuilding team and be a cornerstone piece especially next to Cam Thomas and Claxton. Still at a young age in their timeline at 23. He seems to lack confidence where he hesitates and overthinks it lately, and a new environment could help him settle in and take it off his shoulders. Josh Green looks like he has room to grow and his offense is pretty good. He can shoot and score well with his quickness and athleticism. Mainly a catch and shoot player which would be a great addition to the nets next to a player like Cam Thomas. Defensively he's good, he can hustle and has been more aggressive recently. Good screen navigation, able to dodge them. He's where he should be defensively but further improvement to offense could be very beneficial to his game. I think his playmaking is fine, he just needs to polish it more to prevent turnovers. Just great energy overall but incomplete skillset. He definitely has the potential though and seems to improve every year.

Next, Oliver-Maxence Prosper. Pick 24 in the last draft at age 20. I'm a bit unsure of him as a player, but he seems to have a great build, tall at 6'8, a 7'1 wingspan, athletic with an explosive vert. I may be wrong so feel free to correct me but judging from other sources, he has good passing, rebounding, shooting and defense. Described as versatile especially for a big man. It looks like he might develop into a 3&D with the major strength being defense. A really aggressive player with energy. In the G-League, he averaged a nice 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. I think he can really grow if he puts effort into improving his scoring. An interesting prospect, I think he can produce similar stats regularly if given the right opportunity. However, that might just be my hopeful thinking.

The nets could utilise Tim Hardaway Jr by taking on his expiring contract for the season in order to tank or either package him or flip him for assets. The downside to this is that he has really low trade value especially after a bad year. He's just there to match salaries in the trade and he would definitely be kept long term.

Trade Flaws

I'm not sure if this trade can go through due to cap space as I'm still learning about it, more of a personal problem that relates to the trade.

I'm not a Mavericks fan so my opinion on the need for a new SF with a 3&D archetype might not align with their actual needs. There are definitely other factors I'm not aware about that should be considered when making a trade to improve their team, lmk about some so I can discover how to strengthen their weaknesses.

A reminder that this is framework so I haven't covered the full details of this trade and I want to see what you guys would include such as picks, players and possibly another trade partner alongside the two to make the most of what could benefit both parties and consider trade value.
