Title covers the jist of this trade.
For Dallas, I know the Mavs need a backup 4 but I think adding an elite offensive force like Vučević would make the team much stronger. The key would be staggering his minutes with Lively in a way that Vuč gets 27-28 minutes a game and Lively gets 22-24 minutes a game. We could see them on the floor at the same time the way we have Powell play the PF spot some this season. I also could see Lively starting and Vuč playing a significant 6th man role as the coaching staff seems to like how DLive makes his presence felt early. Torrey Craig could be the pseudo backup 4 and Jevon Carter adds some nice depth at the SG spot.
PG - Luka Dončić, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dante Exum
SG - Kyrie Irving, Jaden Hardy, Jevon Carter
SF - Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, Quentin Grimes
PF - PJ Washington, Torrey Craig, Markieff Morris
C - Dereck Lively II, Nikola Vučević, Dwight Powell
For Chicago, the Bulls have been playing well but their pick is lightly protected and ownership should be incentivized to rebuild and get younger. Gafford is a reliable force at the center position and a familiar face to Chicago who is still relatively young. Bulls also add a promising wing in OMax Prosper who can grow with some of the young corps in place in Chicago and get more minutes there. For taking on Kleber, the Mavs send a 2025 first round pick and a 2025 second round pick to the Bulls.
PG - Josh Giddey, Lonzo Ball, Dalen Terry
SG - Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Talen Horton-Tucker
SF - Zach LaVine, Julian Philips, Olivier-Maxence Prosper
PF - Patrick Williams, Matas Buzelis, Maxi Kleber
C - Daniel Gafford, Jalen Smith, Adama Sanogo
