Had so much fun with the draft today. Was really interesting all throughout. I'm gonna take some time to put out something a bit more long form, but here are my main takeaways from the first round:
The Washington Wizards absolutely RAN AWAY with the best first round haul. Crushed it. Very impressed with their front office. I don't know if trading Deni was necessary at all, but Sarr, Carrington, and Kyshawn is chef kiss.
The Spurs traded Rob to the Timberwolves.... but why??? I thought Castle and Rob was a brilliant pairing and they gave it up for a 2031 pick? Just a bizarre move that I think might come back to bite them in the ass
Thank you Houston for making the simple and correct move! Now just avoid any dumb "win-now" trades for guys who are nearing retirement and won't bring us any closer to contention. Let's just stay patient!
Trajan Langdon is an absolute liar, cuz Ron Holland is NEITHER of the things he said they were looking for at 5. That being said, I still love the pick. If they're gonna swing for talent, might as well take THE swing of the draft
I like that Charlotte took Salaun, he's one of my fav prospects, but they definitely had better opportunities to add value, either by taking Clingan outright or trading down with someone else who would.
Memphis taking Edey at 9 is spicy
LOVE LOVE LOVE Kel'el Ware to Miami
Like Jared McCain to Philly. The fit is great. Also, I love Jared McCain because your opinion on his personality immediately reveals how insecure you are about your masculinity lol. He's hot, he's rich and famous, and he's a hooper! Love the pairing with Maxey
Lakers with an absolute miraculous steal for Knecht at 17
Also, I did pretty well on the whole with my predictions! I had Sarr and Carrington to Washington down pat, Salaun at 6, and a few other picks bang on. Well done, me! Hehe.
Would love to know your thoughts on the first round!
