what's up community! i was quite active on here about a year ago but in the last 365 days i've officially gotten a job in basketball, and its been a bit weird balancing my energy and efforts into what is now my work and my hobby. but i wanted to return to share some of my draft takes for this 2025 cycle! some will be mild, some will be spicy. would love to hear others opinions. in no particular order, here we go
Nique Clifford is, legitimately, one of my all time favorite and highest rated prospects. I was a huge fan of him last year and was bummed that he returned to Colorado State. i was admittedly worried he might fizzle out, but absolutely not. he is still immensely talented and polished in basically every aspect. at least, in my opinion. i have him at #6 on my big board. i think he's a future star.
Egor Demin is also relatively high on my all time prospects ladder, but not because of his play at BYU- Real Madrid Egor Demin is one of the craziest basketball players I've ever seen. i don't think he's necessarily in the best position to show off his game, but im still super high on him and have him firmly in my top 3.
Hansen Yang is a first round talent in my eyes. the touch at the rim and as a passer is there, and his style of post-play reminds a lot of Alperen Sengun. they're both very flexible, agile, and showcase it in such a unique way in post.
I think naturally this next prospect has to taken a tumble, but I'm also incredibly high on Nolan Traore. he's had a really rough last month or so, but his talent in a professional league shouldn't be brushed off. still would love to see him taken in the lottery by the right team. Dink Pate is in the same boat. dude is immensely talented and deserves his shot out of the G.
one of my favorite older prospects, other than Clifford, has to be Chaz Lanier. i think he might be the best plug and play prospect of the class. the kind of player that contenders are salivating over.
those are most of the fun ones. would love to hear any of yours. be well homies
