literally every single time I sit down to write something about the draft, I go way too far and end up writing way more than I meant to, and it just ends up being a mess. so gonna stick with these post-it notes and smaller form updates on my thoughts.

no changes at the top. still firm with Flagg/Harper at the top. VJ has been my number 3 for a while, but I could see some consideration for a few other guys. feels like people are starting to talk about VJ's lack of advanced handle, which is understandable. I like seeing Kon Knueppel kinda break into the top 5-ish talks. very well deserved.

two of my favorite guards in this class have been performing very, very well recently, albeit in different contexts: Egor Demin and Nolan Traore. Egor is having a dream draft process and Traore is playing some of his best basketball yet in his young career. I am well aware that these are two polarizing prospects that a lot of people can be pretty low on. I understand the concerns, but I'm just not as put off by those concerns as others are. I think a lot of it has to do with the whole advantage creation thing I've talked about in previous posts. if I try to explain it now things would get out of hand lol. bottom line: I really like what I'm seeing lately from them.

most foreign prospects have looked really good recently. Noa Essengue probably has the highest stock right now he's had since October 2024, and for good reason. Neoklis Avdalas and Hansen Yang had excellent scrimmages. Yang is just good, dude. like I totally understand where people come from in their reluctance to recognize him, but at a certain point... not sure you can really deny it. the real deal size and game impact turns him from "fringe unicorn" into legitimate prospect. NBL bigs had a solid combine too: Zikarsky looked crazy mobile in his testing, and Lachlan Olbrich got some extended run after playing some really simple, effective basketball. I still don't know enough about Alex Toohey. in my original round of evaluations I was not moved at all, but everything and everyone in the draft deserves a second, third, fourth glance. still am absurdly high on Joan Beringer, despite not seeing or hearing much from him as of late.

Yaxel Lendeborg, please do not go back to school. please just declare my guy. you are that good and should capitalize on that right now.
