Grading every pick in the first round of the NBA draft

I’ll be giving a grade to each pick in the first room I’ll be basing it off of fit and best value available

AJ Dybansta to the Washington Wizards :Grade: A+ best guy avalible and has the most potential to be an absolute beast in the league he is also a great fit for Washington

Darryn Peterson to the Utah Jazz :Grade: A+ once again best guy on the board and a great fit for Utah he can be that 1A guy on offense that they currently lack and let Lauri and Keyonte be the eventual second options

Cameron Boozer to the Memphis Grizzlies :Grade: A+ wow I’m suprised 3 straight perfect pick and yeah it is more then perfect for Memphis they drafted the guy with the second highest potential and someone who fits unbelievable well with the rest of the team

Caleb Wilson to the Chicago Bulls :Grade: A now this was the best guy available but idk about the fit being perfect they have a lot of forwards in the rotation now with Matas Wilson Noa Swain and Claxton as a big man with Jalen Smith it’s gonna be interesting to see how they divide the minutes in a crowded room of young talents

Keaton Wagler to the Los Angeles Clippers :Grade: A- arguably the best fit available and a great player although definitely not close to the highest potential and value I do like Wagler and what he can do for this team but not the home run hit you’re looking for at 5 if he performs above expectations I’ll be proven wrong but we’ll see

Mikel Brown Jr to the Brooklyn Nets :Grade: B+ not necessarily a perfect fit or the best available player but he’s a solid prospect with great potential just not the selection or direction I would’ve went

Darius Acuff to the Sacramento Kings :Grade: A+ getting a top 5 player at 7 and that player is also the exact thing you need that’s extremely lucky and for once Sacramento got blessed this guy will be a franchise cornerstone for them and could be a Jalen Brunson kinda guy

Kingston Flemings to the Atlanta Hawks :Grade: B+ maybe the best avalible player but not at all what I wanted for them drafting Mara or trading back would’ve been better but Flemings is a great player and could be the PG of the future for them

Morez Johnson to the Dallas Mavericks :Grade: C+ (Nico is that you) I personally don’t mind the fit of Johnson matter a fact he was probably a top 5 fit guy available but so many better prospects were there Yaxel was there Burries was there and overall just many better players I don’t hate the pick it’s just alright

Brayden Burries to the Milwaukee Bucks :Grade: A- not sure what the ideal fit is for this Milwaukee team they have a lot of guards bigs and okay wings so Burries kinda fits the outlier he’s also one of the best guys available so I do like the pick just unsure where he'll find minutes

Yaxel Lendenborg to the Golden State Warriors :Grade: A yeah great pick for them arguably the best player and fit available for them I would’ve gone with Mara personally but I like this pick a lot and can’t complain about it great move by GS

Aday Mara to the Oklahoma City Thunder :Grade: A+ imo the 6th best guy in the class and someone who I feel would’ve been great with Atlanta Milwaukee GS and arguably LA before them but this is a phenomenal pickup for an already unstoppable team all I can say is Sam Presti strikes again

Nate Ament to the Milwaukee Bucks :Grade: A- once again some people aren’t happy about this for Milwaukee but I personally love the fit a lot his potential to be an athletic two way wing is so intriguing he’s a high risk medium to high reward pick but I do think it was one of their best options so A- as a result

Hannes Steinbach to the Charlotte Hornets :Grade: A- another one that’s drawing mixed emotions from fans but once again it was a very good pickup for yall it adds length rebounding and solid interior presence especially on offense I think it’s a solid move from the hornets

Dailyn Swain to the Chicago Bulls :Grade: A imo the 12th best guy in the class falling outside the lottery is phenomenal value for Chicago he is a bit of an outlier fit wise but they can run him at the 2 and start a culture of playing bigger with length and athleticism Swain was the best guy available and one of the better fits as well great move for them

Bennett Stirtz to the Oklahoma City Thunder :Grade: B+ I’m not as high on Stirtz as some teams but it’s a solid pickup the thing I particularly don’t like is the fact they chose to move up to get him for some reason there were still plenty of good players available even if he went at 16 solid pickup but not my favorite move (Note I’m also factoring in the trade to my grades if there was one)

Ebeka Okorie to the Detroit Pistons :Grade: A personally I like them trading up for one of the really good guard prospects still remaining personally I would've taken Anderson but still a great move all around for Detroit

Christian Anderson to the Charlotte Hornets :Grade: A once again phenomenal pickup giving them great backup guard play and solid shooting addition as well overall I like the move not much else to say

Allen Graves to the Toronto Raptors :Grade: C controversially maybe but I don’t like the pick that much not when their were guys who better suited their team needs now I’m also just not someone who thinks Graves will be anything more then a mid tier role player so just not my favorite pick here

Jayden Quaintence to the San Antonio Spurs :Grade: B+ overall I think this’ll make them much better defensively even more then they already were especially during those non Wemby minutes overall I’m unsure of if he’ll have injury concerns or how high his ceiling is but solid pick

Karim Lopez to the Memphis Grizzlies A+ now personally I’m not a huge fan of Lopez but his potential and him falling all the way to 21 and the fact they moved back and recouped value multiple times makes this a brilliant move to go along with their other home run hit in Cameron Boozer

Labaron Philon to the Philadelphia 76ers :Grade: A+ a top 15 player falling to 22 along with the fact he’s a great scorer and has potential to add a great new level to this Sixers bench is all great lucky break for them but also a great move for them

Zuby Ejiofor to the Atlanta Hawks :Grade: C- I don’t like it it’s an okay fit and bad value there were better PF and C out there that would be better value and probably fit as well just don’t like the pick that much

Cameron Carr to the Los Angeles Lakers :Grade: A- getting a guy who was mocked as high as 11 is great value although I think Isaiah Evans will be the better player I like the pick and don’t mind moving up a spot to get him

Serigio De Larrea to the Dallas Mavericks :Grade: C- the pick itself is just okay and personally I don’t see it being worth trading up for either I can see it working out but personally I think better players were available and they could’ve just waited imo

Tarris Reed Jr to the San Antonio Spurs :Grade: B very solid pickup and holy crap this team is running it back next year with a lot of size next to Wemby this could also spell the end for Kornet if Reed and JQ are performing well I like this pick and don’t mind the trade up just not sure if it was a necessary move

Chris Cenac Jr to the Boston Celtics :Grade: A- can’t hate on the pick he was once someone projected to be top 10 but multiple circumstances caused his stock to fall off I do think he has one of the highest ceiling of any big man in the draft despite having many concerns it’s a solid move from Boston

Joshua Jefferson to the Brooklyn Nets :Grade: B+ now personally I do like the pick it’s just okay they don’t really need Jefferson imo but the trade that goes along with the pick really helps propel this to a B+ solid pick great move for Brooklyn

Alex Karaban to the Sacramento Kings :Grade: C+ how do you go from getting an A+ to a C+ bro I mean Karaban is a guy who I value as an earlier second rounder so drafting him in the late first isn’t terrible but also trading up for him is a little much imo

Koa Peat to the Phoenix Suns :Grade: A personally I love this pick I think all the Peat hate propaganda will not come to fruition and he’ll be a very great NBA role player definitely worth it for Phoenix at 30 especially considering how weak they are in terms of depth

Overall I think this years draft had mostly good pick and moves but lemme know what you think and what grades I got wrong and why

And if you liked this format lemme know or took me a couple hours to make this
