The Boston Celtics trade Marcus Smart, Romeo Langford, Arron Nesmith, and 3 unprotected first round picks (one one 2021, one in 2023, and one in 2025) to the Pacers in exchange for Domontis Sabonis

The Atlanta Hawks trade Danilo Gallinari, Kevin Huerter, one unprotected first round pick (2023), and one top 8 protected first round pick in 2025 to the Pacers in exchange for Malcom Brogdon

Why the Pacers do it: I think that it is time for the Pacers to take a step back and rebuild. They are a good team, and I think with a couple of modifications they can be a playoff caliber team, but they are in a position in which they could get quite a bit of value out of both Sabonis and Brogdon. With this trade, they pull away with 5 first round picks, a couple of good players that they could get value out of, and multiple younger players who have bright futures. This trade would give the Pacers a head start on rebuilding. They would now have their roster perfectly set to rebuild for a couple of years.

Why the Hawks do it: One thing that I think needs to be a priority for the Hawks is putting some defence around Trae Young. Brogdon might be perfect for the Hawks. He is a good two way player who would be a nice fit next to Trae. He’d bring a lot more defence to the Hawks backcourt, and they need it. Brogdon would bring a great combination of both offence and defence, and putting him next to a playmaker of Trae’s caliber could allow him to grow his offensive game. Brogdon would do a lot of good things for the Hawks, and if this trade if offered to them, they should not back away.

Why the Celtics do it: This teams front court is pretty terrible right now. Robert Williams has been the only front court member on the Celtics that I would say has played decently this season. Something has got to change if the Celtics want to compete. Domontis Sabonis would be a great addition to the front court. He is an all star caliber player who would bring good offence to the Celtics. His size and strength is something that the Celtics could really use right now. Having a big 3 of Jaylen Brown, Jason Tatum, and Domontis Sabonis would be great for the Celtics.
