The Pacers get a guy! Is it the right guy? I don’t know, but they got him!

It’s time. The Pacers need to shake this team up and while Carlisle may love the 3-and-D play of Myles Turner, management may have no choice but to deal one of their Centers, and can’t justify sending away Sabonis. So, it hurts, but Myles it is.

The Pacers are able to land an athletic wing/forward in Wiggins who can become more of a focal point to reach his potential. He’s very quietly putting up nearly 20 points per night on a GSW team where the focus is on Curry. Wiggins could be the type of player the Pacers need to fit into a lineup of Sabonis-Wiggins-LeVert-Duarte-Brogdon. (I’m not holding my breath for Warren’s return, and neither should you.) It’s a shot at a spark, because what else do the Pacers have to lose?

For Golden State, they may become a lesser regular season team with Turner, but they’re a better playoff team. They’re measuring up the Western Conference landscape right now, and they may not like the matchup they see against the Phoenix Suns. Who on the Warriors matches up to Ayton when Booker, Paul, and Bridges are spreading the floor? (Wiseman is not a viable answer.) For the Warriors, Wiggins is an expendable piece to add Turner to a lineup with Steph, Klay, and Draymond. Throw in Lamb as a sixth man for their rotation, and his expiring contract to relieve some pressure for next year, and it’s a deal that meets needs for the Warriors.

Warriors build a team that can definitely make a run at another title, while the Pacers do, well, something of value to salvage a playoff run.
