SF needs finally met. Naji being the perfect backup, or could even start of Nesmith at time's. While Kessler Edwards is a 3rd string who doesn't have to play. Yet even though he's not the best on Offense, he's a very good defender at 6'7 and can guard multiple positions. Imo, I'd be looking to trade Jarace Walker and possibly TJ McConnell at some point too. I think we could get another solid backup guard, an even better SF, or our future C for him. The only reason I think we end up trading Walker, is because of fit. Especially if we retain Obi, which I'll be pissed if they don't. He's just not able to play SF and isn't switchable. He's basically just an undersized PF, that has slow feet and could only guard slower SF's.
If Jarace can show coming into this year that he's not going to play so heavy footed on D. Can score as a SF should at 3 levels and not constantly allow blow by's. Then I'd be okay with him at SF.. But I don't see it with his lack of mobility, he's stiff and can't jump well.. I was hoping to get Caruso for him and a pick put of the Bulls.. But looks like they had to get them some Diddy Giddy. 😂
Andre Drummond would be a dream come true backup C for this Pacers team. Because I can't remember the last time this team has had a real legit big man, who can score down low at will and most importantly.. REBOUND THE BALL!!!
So these would be a a few moves I'd like to see.. Even if we kept Jalen Smith on his Option. I wouldn't be mad at him picking it up. I actually like Jalen, but we need to get another SF like Marshall. I think he'd be our best option at this point also.. Maybe Oubre Jr., or Caleb Martin if not Marshall.. But we need someone and if they can't get the space.. Or have a mid level they want to use because they're too cheap.. At least sign Kessler Edwards on a Minimum Deal...
