Danilo is probably not going to be able to play a game this season, and the Pelicans are likely to not extend Jaxson. The Celtics need better value for the $6.4M they just handed out to Gallinari on his new contract and they need a center to backup Robert Williams, especially with him being injury-prone. Jaxson won't get a lot of minutes on the Pels with Zion, Jonas, Larry Nance and possibly Trey Murphy occupying minutes on the bigs. His spot on the team could be better used by wings who could be legitimate offensive weapons by stretching the floor. Sam Hauser is a young prospect drafted in 2021 who shot 40% from three in all his 4 years in college. He will be the best movement shooter on the team from day 1 and could give the team good spot minutes. Danilo is also a good shooter and he can be useful for the following season. The 2 second-round picks Boston is giving also helps the Pelicans fill needs on the roster. This is good value for Jaxson's expiring contract I say.
