The Spurs should aim to add good project players in exchange for their veterans including Josh Richardson as they head into a franchise rebuild. The team has the time to invest in developing Jaxson into a useful rim protector with all the athletic tools he has. He is already agile and long enough to guard on the perimeter and he can certainly fit a switch-everything scheme once he develops better discipline and technique while protecting the rim.

The Pelicans would like to get a quality wing instead of Jaxson Hayes on their roster as Nance would take backup center minutes. Richardson can shoot, pass and be active defensively. His skillset can make him fit with any player on the roster. They also get an extra roster spot.
