Toronto plans for the future.

It is pretty obvious now the Raptors have picked a direction in which they wanna go after the first blockbuster trade for the season in which sent OG, Precious, and Malachi to NY for Immanuel, RJ, ans 2nd round pick(via DET). I don’t believe they are done yet and don’t think it’s just one deal happening. The name of the game is for Toronto to acquire at least one piece that is looked at as a core building for the future, get some depth, picks, and most importantly clear cap space for the future. These two trades will not only help them do all but help the other teams who are in it. These are TWO SEPERATE DEALS. Not one big 3 team deal.

Why Indiana does it: It’s simple. The Pacers need a robin to Haliburton. A true wing that can take them over the hump. Siakim fits the mold. No real explaining to do. But I believe this is something Indiana will try to accomplish before Feb 8th. They also have the money to extend him moving forward and really build a legit championship contender.

Why Miami does it: Miami is in a really strong place but just like Indiana is a piece or two away. GTJ and Boucher are the two main pieces for them. Gary and Boucher feel like Heat kinda players in general. Add shooting, solid defense, and balance to an already balanced Heat team. This deal would really benefit the Heat more than many would realize.

Why Toronto does it: As I listed above what they need. This deal is exactly checks off all 4 boxes. They get Mathurin who they can pair with Quickley in the backcourt. Depth in McConnell and Jovic moving forward, picks, and most importantly clear a lot of cap space. Lowry, Hield, and Nwora come off the books next year. $51.8 million gets cleared. Kyle can simply retire at the end of the year. No 1 days.

Comment what you think. Picks can be changed as well. But I think these two deals really are win for every team who is involved.
