Lakers shed some of their lengthier contracts which gives them tons of cap flexibility next year, plus they apparently really wanted Brown according to rumors before the trade deadline. In exchange, drop to the #31 pick for this draft (which gives them a much better opportunity to draft Bronny without being scrutinized by NBA media for doing it at #17)

Raptors get another pick in the sweet spot of this draft, shed the players who didn't fit with the team, and pick up some younger wing players. Plus they get the backup PG they need.
