Spurs Do it Because: If the Spurs trade for Ayton that means they still have a little $$ to sign other free agents to help this team win. They need a young athletic big that can keep up with the game. This trade would make sense for the Spurs and wouldn't cost them a ton of assets. Consider this lineup would immediately have 2 potential all stars, and it's hard to ignore the rest of these role players.

Murray Vassell Johnson Sochan Ayton

It would be a very young roster, but the Spurs development is second to none. I would argue in 3 years this team is a Western Conference standout. A side note worth considering is Pop rarely starts rookies, but it's possible he will make an acceptation for the athletic Sochan. They would need to add to their bench depth, but if they keep Richardson and Murray, those are solid wing defensive players. That would mean adding some serious toughness in the paint is a necessary step. Maybe like TJ Warren, Montrezl Harrell, or PJ Tucker.

Suns do it Because: Let's face it, losing Ayton for nothing would be stupid. As the NBA has developed in recent years, teams who lose star players to free agency are often compensated after the signing. This trade makes sense. Tobias is quality glue guys and fits the culture of the Suns perfectly. he can score and would be a solid running mate with the current starting lineup. The Sun's new starting lineup would look like this:

Paul Booker Bridges Harris Committee Center

Sixers Do It Because: Let's face it, the Sixers can't seem to decide what kind of team they are. Simply put, their swing with Harden caused Harris to be way underutilized, and it's hard to imagine they just let Harden walk. This allows Harden and Embed to dominate touches while not gobbling up possessions from players like Harris who need valuable touches to find their groove. They shed a little salary, they bring it solid role players to fill out their roster, and if Harden can stay healthy and act like he wants to win, this team would make a pretty compelling case for an Easter Conference appearance. It also doesn't cost them any young players they are currently developing. Win/Win. New Starting lineup would look something like this.

Maxey Harden Thybulle (small for a SF) Collins (by committee, probably starter but simply a rotational player) Embiid
